Summary:

The article is devoted to the theoretical substantiation of the definition of the concept of violence against adolescents, the clarification of its causes, types and forms. The problem of brutality and violence in our society is becoming more and more relevant, despite the fact that at the legislative level, any manifestation of violence against the child, including physical punishment, is prohibited. This is due to many socio-economic factors, among which one should note: an increase in the number of single-parent families as a result of divorce and the departure of parents abroad; frank uncontrolled propaganda of violence and aggression on television screens, etc. The purpose of the article is to provide theoretical substantiation of the definition of the concept of violence against adolescents, its causes, types and forms. It is revealed that at present, in the international professional community of social workers and practical psychologists, two classes of violence are used most often, according to which specialized research, preventive and correctional programs are developed and implemented. The first classification is based on the nature of violent actions and includes such types of violence as: physical; sexy; psychological; economic; and neglect of the basic needs of the child. The second classification focuses on the characteristics of the object of violence. These characteristics may include: age; sex; health status; family relations; ethnic affiliation; social status. No matter what kind of violence experienced by a child in any case, it negatively affects her psyche. Violent violations affect various areas of activity of children and adolescents: emotional; cognitive; personal; behavioral and sphere of interpersonal relations.

Key words: violence against teenagers, prevention of violence against teenagers, psychological aspects of violence.
